At least 60 credits must also have been acquired in basic scientific subjects, of which at least 25 credits in the following subject areas: CHIM/01-CHIM/12; BIO/10-BIO/11; ING-IND/22-ING-IND/27.

- The Erasmus Mundus MSc in Chemical Innovation and Regulation (EMM-ChIR) involves the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna (IT), The University of Barcelona (ES) and the University of Algarve in Faro (PT).
- EMM-ChIR is a complete and flexible programme preparing professionals qualified to deal with all aspects of chemical safety. The master duration is 2 years: 1 year of taught modules in one of the Universities of the consortium, rotating every year, and 1 year of internship, research project and thesis in a second country of the Consortium.
- Part of the research project can be done in collaboration with one of the associated partner institutions either in Europe, Asia or South America.
The final degree is jointly awarded by the three Universities of the ChIR Consortium
