- Students can stay in Ireland only for a maximum of seven years to complete their degree courses

- Degree program students are not allowed to enrol in a non-degree or language course, during or after completion of their programs. They may enrol in a foundation language course though if it has been already stated in their visa application clearly.
- International students are advised to pursue only those programs that are included in the Internationalization that allows non-EU students to take up casual employment.

Under the Irish Third Level Graduate Scheme, students who have successfully completed qualifications within NQF Levels 8 to 10 from the following institutions are eligible to stay back for one year to seek employment, and apply for a green card and work permit:
- Dublin Institute of Technology
- Higher Education Training and Awards Council

Things to remember
- An individual student can only avail of the Irish Third Level Graduate Scheme once.
- The scheme is non-renewable.
- The scheme allows for a seven-year limit for a student.
Hence, if a student does a three-year bachelor's degree program in Ireland and then opts for a one-year stay-back option under the Third Level Graduate Scheme, he or she will only have four years to complete further studies there. Besides, the student cannot apply for the scheme again
