Manipal International University: Courses, Admission, Cost

Manipal International University is a private institution, which was established in 2011. The university majorly focuses on Engineering, Management, Science, and Business studies. It is a part of the Manipal Global Education Group. The degrees are awarded by Mysore University and Mangalore University. The institute got the deemed-to-be university status in 1993. Initially, it was known as Manipal Academy of Higher Education and later on after receiving the university status, it was renamed to its current name.

The institute also provides scholarships based on a student's overall academic performance and rank obtained in the qualifying examination. The scholarships are provided in the form of tuition fee waiver and semester fee waiver, depending upon the student's scores and requirement. Students who belong to a modest financial background are given proper financial support throughout the duration of the course.

The university campus is spread across an area of 145 acres. It comprises sports complexes and several clubs for the overall development of students through co-curricular activities like drama, hiking, kayaking, arts, open mics, and cultural event nights. The campus offers accommodation facilities, along with convenience stores, cafeterias, indoor game rooms, guest lounge, student lounge, and guest rooms for student's family members who wish to pay a visit to the university. The central library at the campus consists of textbooks, reference books, journals, magazines, research papers, novels, and newspapers.

The students can also access the online resources available at the library. Students can enroll in library workshops with the help of the library's staff members. This will give them a deeper understanding of the course textbooks. The campus features three laboratories, namely Computer lab, Electronics lab, and Strength of Materials lab. In addition, a mechanical workshop is open for students. They are taught under experienced faculty members.

There are a total of 2,000 students enrolled at the university. The university offers undergraduate degree programs in the fields of business, science, and engineering. It offers a postgraduate program in business studies. It also provides diploma-degree programs in business administration, mass communication, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer-aided & electronics engineering. The students also get opportunities to visit renowned organizations to learn about fieldwork and work as interns under professionals. The university has two schools and a center, namely the Centre for Foundation & Language Studies, the School of Business & Management, and the School of Science & Engineering.

The university has a list of notable alumni that includes Rajeev Suri (CEO of Nokia Siemens Network, Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft Corporation), Sameer Hashmi (Business & Economy reporter at BBC), Tamara Ayesha Fernandes (Creative art director at Yara Jewellery), Vikas Khanna (Well-known chef and host of the television show 'Master Chef of India), and Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor (Astronaut and researcher at the Institute of Space Science National University of Malaysia).
