Located in George Town, Penang, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and the University College Dublin (UCD) Malaysia Campus is a private medical institute in Malaysia. The academic programs offered at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and the University College Dublin (UCD) Malaysia Campus include Pre-medical Foundation Year, Undergraduate Medical Degree, RCSI Masters of Science in Health Research (Part-time), UCD Masters of Science in Public Health (Full-time), RCSI or UCD Structured MD (Full-time), and RCSI or UCD Structured Ph.D. (Full-time or Part-time).
Situated within the premises of RCSI and UCD Malaysia Campus, the RCSI Surgical Training Office manages the conduct, association, and execution of different RCSI assessments, courses and research. The RCSI Membership Examination is an intercollegiate test comprising of two sections, namely MRCS Part A and MRCS Part B. The Intercollegiate MRCS Examinations are held at RCSI and UCD Malaysia Campus several times each year, with Part A worldwide simultaneously. FRCS – RCSI worked together with sister Royal Colleges to offer the Joint Surgical Colleges' Fellowship Examination (JSCFE) in light of the growing requirement for an international examination that marks an endpoint of surgical training for doctors and certifies their ability to go about as independent professionals. Further, the Intercollegiate Basic Surgical Skills Course is normally held 2-4 times each year at RCSI and UCD Malaysia Campus. Accreditation and quality assurance is by RCSI.
Malaysia Ireland Training Programme for Family Medicine (MINTFM) involves training specialists who will serve individuals and families in the community.
