- A Master's program applicant should have a (minimum) 4 year Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or its affiliated college. Accreditation should be by NAAC, AICTE, or the institute should be on the list of Institutes of National Importance. In case of accreditation by AICTE student should include a statement in the application documents from the university confirming the AICTE accreditation.

A bachelor in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent with Specific knowledge and understanding in science disciplines and life sciences, obtained within a biomedical engineering context or related:
More specifically at least;- biology and medicine (including at least anatomy, physiology and molecular cell biology)
- computer science /programming
- mathematics and statistics (including at least limits, differentiation, differential equations, vector calculus, linear algebra and biostatistics)
- chemistry (including at least organic chemistry, material science, biochemistry)
- physics (including at least mechanics and fluid mechanics)
- image acquisition and analysis (including at least MR physics and ultrasound and filtering techniques, enhancement procedures, morphological operations and segmentation techniques)
- engineering and scientific skills on a biomedical engineering subject

In addition, further in-depth knowledge in at least two of the focus areas of the Biomedical Engineering master, i.e. chemical biology, image acquisition and/or analysis, biomechanics and/or mechanobiology, regenerative engineering, computational biology.
