There are two entry pathways into the Business Analytics major, each leading to one of the two research areas:

Pathway One

A bachelor’s degree or higher academic qualification in business, which includes at least 15 credits in mathematics and/or statistics

Genuine interest in researching business analytics management practices within New Zealand/Australia/Oceania.

Pathway Two

A bachelor’s degree or higher academic qualification in statistics or a similar discipline (mathematics, data science, engineering) included at least 60 credits in mathematics and/or statistics.

Genuine interest in researching analytical models and data analysis techniques.

Applicants must have relevant computer skills

Applicants must have mathematics and statistics fundamentals

Applicants must have an understanding of business concepts

Safe country and average college.

Tips: New Zealand is a very diverse country but they have their own culture too like there is a tribe called Maori tribe and while being here I got to know about their customs and traditions. Rugby here is the sport of choice and in our college too there is a team. As a country New Zealand is very safe even for girls too, none of my friends or I have encountered any issue related to safety. Upon my arrival here at NMIT I got taken care of very well by the caring staff and the day-to-day facilities here are good as well. The class timings are flexible as breaks from classes fall on different schedules depending upon the students' focus area and progress.

Likes (Quality of faculty): The tutors are really very helpful. They teach with all their heart but, the college is not progressing forward when it comes to bringing in new teaching methodologies and tutors can't do much themselves. But they are very experienced no doubt. The tutors are from all around the world and thus the faculty is very diverse which is a good thing.

Dislikes (Post study jobs): The placements here are not quite good. As an international student, it is a top priority to secure a job here but during my academic year, very less companies visited the campus. Almost 95% of my batchmates including me were unable to find a good job.
