British Council Inks MoU To Empower Karnataka Children With English Language Learning
Under the agreement of the British Council and the Dept. of RDPR, 5,800 Karnataka’s Rural Grama Panchayat Arivu Kendras will get access to the British Council’s Digital Library Freemium membership and the agreement will also enrich the physical library collections of the 10 selected Grama Panchayat Arivu Kendras with 500 children’s books provided to the library.
Study Abroad: The British Council has entered into an agreement with the Dept. of RDPR to help children of 10 Arivu Kendras in Karnataka to be empowered with English Language Learning.

British Council, Dept. of RDPR Partnership Details
The partnership is signed to revolutionise English language learning for children between the ages group of 5 to 12 in these selected Grama Panchayat Arivu Kendras. The Karnataka government is planning to extend this initiative to other Grama Panchayat for students to achieve personal growth and academic success.
Key Areas Of Collaboration Between British Council, Karnataka Govt
The following are the key areas of collaboration:
- The Physical Libraries will be enriched with the addition of 500 English language books for children at selected Arivu Kendras.
- British Council’s Digital Library Freemium membership will be accessible for around 5800 Rural Grama Panchayat Arivu Kendras.
- Establishing a roadmap for the future collaborations between the UK and dept. Of RDPR, Karnataka for boosting rural education.
