The ceremony was called Sobraniye 2024 and it was for Indian students who are going to study medicine in Russia.

Study Abroad: Rus Education has organized a pre-departure ceremony Sobraniye 2024 for Indian students going to Russia to study MBBS. It was organized at the Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi.

The event saw the presence of Olga Kroshkina- Representative of the Russian House in New Delhi, Elena Barman- Head of Education Department at Russian House in New Delhi, Mironchev Anton- Dean at Orenburg State Medical University, and Nirmal Kumar Bhagat- Director at NITI Aayog.

There were also well-known medical field personalities of India who graced this event including Lt Gen. (Dr.) A K Das, PVSM (Retd.) - Group Medical Director, Marengo Asia Hospitals; Lt. Gen. Bipin Puri (Retd.)- PVSM, VSM (Retd.) Director of Medical Services (North Zone), Dr. Abhijeet Sheth- M.S., M.Ch., FRCS (Glasgow), Director of Medical Services (North India), Apollo Group of Hospitals; Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh-  Medical Director, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad; Dr. Vanita Mittal- General Manager Academics, Max Institute of Medical Excellence; Max Health Care; and more.

Sobraniye 2024: More Details

The event began with the lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Abhijeet Sheth- M.S., M.Ch., FRCS (Glasgow), Director of Medical Services (North India), Apollo Group of Hospitals addressed the attendees and offered insights to the aspiring medical students. He congratulated the students and said, “Education has no boundaries. However, there are expectations that you have to follow in Russia. Have great courage, great passion, in whatever you do and especially in the medical field.”








Lt. Gen. Bipin Puri (Retd.)- PVSM, VSM (Retd.) Director of Medical Services (North Zone), Apollo Group of Hospitals also encouraged the students and said, “Learn the art and science of Medicine. However, being a Doctor is not just learning about sciences but also being a good listener, empathetic, and able to communicate well with your patients and their attendants.  He further stated that the Golden Virtue to develop as a medical student is to be ethical, dedicated and persevered.”







Scholarship granted to students

Many outstanding students were given scholarships such as UDAAN Scholarship in honour of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, BADHTE KADAM Scholarship in memory of APJ Abdul Kalam, AYUSHMAN BHARAT Scholarship, and the DRUZHBA Scholarship in commemoration of the late H.E. Alexander Mikhailovich Kadakin.
