Study Abroad: Apply to Swami Vivekanand Scholarship 2024 by Jan 15

The deadline to apply for the Swami Vivekanand Scholarship 2024, formerly known as the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence is January 15, 2025. The scholarship is worth INR 500000.

Swami Vivekanand Scholarship 2024 is an initiative by the Government of Rajasthan. The scholarship aims to support students from Rajasthan who are seeking to study abroad. The scholarship is for undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., are post-doctoral research programs.

The scholarship award includes monthly living expenses up to ₹1,00,000 and other benefits. There are a total of 500 scholarships and applications can be filled out online. 

The coverage includes - Living Expenses, Annual Maintenance Allowance, Annual Incidental and Equipment Allowance, Medical Insurance Premium, Accommodation, TCS (if applicable), Visa Fee, Airfare (Economy Class) for Travel Abroad and Return to India, Laptop, and Advance Payment for Other One-time Expenses.

The Tuition Fees During the Course Duration per annum is being offered - INR 500000.

Applicants who have accepted to study abroad after the application deadline on the portal will be entitled to the following benefits in the first year of the scheme:

• Living expenses of ₹75,000 per month
• A one-time upfront payment of ₹3,00,000 will be provided in the first year of studying abroad.

For the remaining years, the following benefits will be provided:

• No payment will remain due for the course duration prior to the application date.
• For pursuing studies in India, students will receive ₹25,000 per month to cover living expenses i.e. ₹3,00,000 per annum.
• For living expenses, each month, students who are enrolled in the scheme before the application date will receive ₹1,00,000 and it will be provided during the upcoming course duration. 

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria for Swami Vivekanand Scholarship 2024:

Interested students must be enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD or postdoctoral degree programmes. They must have received an admission letter/confirmation letter/offer letter from any of the universities or institutions listed in the latest QS Global Rankings or ranked within the top 1-50 institutions by NIRF.

They must be a citizen of India and a domiciled resident in the State of Rajasthan. 

The age of the applicant must be less than 35 years of age as of 1st July of every academic year.

The annual family income must be less than INR 8,00,000 (*E1 Category), between INR 8,00,000 and INR 25,00,000 (E2 Category) and more than INR 25,00,000 (E3 Category).

The candidates must follow the steps given below to apply for the scholarship:

• Visit the official website www.hte.rajasthan.gov.in/online-scholarship 
• Navigate to the ‘Apply Now’ button and click on it.
• Go to the ‘Registration’ section available on the right-hand side.
• Click on ‘Jan Aadhaar’ or ‘Google’ to ‘Register’.
• Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Documents Required For Swami Vivekanand Scholarship 2024

The following documents are needed to apply for the scholarship - 

• Offer letter from the relevant foreign university
• Domicile Certificate (“Bonafide/Domicile Certificate”)
• Gross family income certificate authenticated by an executive magistrate and witnessed by two gazetted officers.
• Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the financial year 2023-24 (Applicable for scholarship applications submitted in the financial year 2024-25)
• Jan Aadhaar Number (if applicable)
• Passport (if applicable)
• Visa (if applicable)
• Affidavit for not filing ITR in the provided format
• Marksheet/certificate of the last passed examination
• Self-declaration for scholarships/financial aid received from other sources (if applicable)
