The British Academy is offering the International Fellowships 2025 to support early career researchers in building independent research careers. The fellows will get to work in a UK institute for creating a globally connected, mobile research and innovation workforce.

British Academy and the Royal Society will jointly run this program. British Academy's International Fellowships 2025 will support the researchers in pursuing top-quality and innovative research. It aims to attract outstanding early-career researchers from various countries to conduct their research in the UK. The fellowship will provide opportunities to develop and transfer Knowledge and new skills through career development and training.

The fellows will get networking opportunities during the fellowship.

"The International Fellowships offer support for two years and the award is offered at 80% FEC. Applicants may apply for research expenses of up to £12,000 and relocation costs of up to £8,000. Applicants will need to justify the level of research expenses and relocation costs requested in their application," reads the official statement.

Eligibility Requirement For International Fellowships 2025

The following are the eligibility requirements:

  • Applicant must hold a PhD or should complete it before the start date of the Fellowship.
  • At the time of application, the applicants should have no more than 7 years of active full-time postdoctoral experience.
  • They should be working outside the UK and must not hold UK citizenship.
  • The research proposal should be clearly defined and mutually beneficial with the UK host researcher.

British Academy Announces Five New Recipients Of Innovation Fellowships

The British Academy announces five winners of the innovation fellowships which support the established early-career and mid-career researchers. These researchers are from humanities and social sciences and they get partnership opportunities with businesses and organisations in the private, public, creative cultural, policy or commercial sectors.








The awardees under the 2023-24 Innovation Fellowship Scheme are - Dr Amy Burnett, Dr Gloria Crabolu, Dr Carolin Ioramashvili, Dr Qianlan Wu, and Dr Keming Yang.

"Over £450,000 has been awarded to provide these five researchers with the opportunity to work closely with policymakers, right at the heart of the partner’s work. In collaboration with their partners, the researchers will work to develop outcomes that enhance our understanding of, and response to, societal challenges, and offer solutions to shape policy and practice," says the British Academy statement.
