Study in US: HonorHealth Named Primary Clinical Affiliate for Arizona State University

Arizona State University and HonorHealth have entered an agreement and as per this pact HonorHealth which is a local nonprofit health system will be the primary clinical affiliate for the School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering at ASU.

This agreement is a significant move towards the development of ASU Health. Under the partnership, the university is planning to create the clinical education programs required for the new School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering at the university.

“We are pleased to join with HonorHealth in this important and fundamental step. HonorHealth is equipped to be an important component and contributor to ASU Health in creating a unique medical school that is transformative in delivering better health outcomes for the people of Arizona, and beyond,” ASU President Michael Crow said.

ASU aims to create GME courses

The clinical affiliation between both partners will create graduate medical education (GME) courses.

HonorHealth Chief Executive Officer Todd LaPorte said, “HonorHealth is thrilled to collaborate with ASU, America’s most innovative university, in a partnership that is breaking new ground in professional education and clinical experience for tomorrow’s medical professionals. As a market-leading, community-focused health system with nearly 100 years of expertise in Arizona, we believe we are the right partner for this new kind of medical school.”

New medical school at ASU promises hands-on experience for students

Medical education requires hospital-based learning and hands-on experience. The students spend years in the hospital getting the clinical experience under the guidance of experienced physicians. The School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering will ensure that medicos have access to the best local hospital facilities to advance their careers and education.
