Top Australian Universities To Set Up Campus In Gurugram, Offer UG Courses

During their visit to India, a consortium of six top universities in Australia has expressed willingness to set up a campus in Gurugram and offer UG courses which will not only make students employable in India but across the world.

Study Abroad: Amid the ongoing commitment of India and Australia to improve educational collaboration, the latest is that a consortium of six top Australian universities has decided to set up a campus in Gurugram and offer undergraduate courses to students.

The undergraduate courses will be in Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Tourism and Hospitality, Artificial Intelligence AI), Financial Technology, and Sports Management.

Deputy High Commissioner of the Australian High Commission Nick McCaffrey led the delegation which met the Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The delegation also included Prof Simon Biggs, IRU Chair and Vice Chancellor and President, James Cook University and Mathew Johnston, Minister Counsellor, Education and Research, Australian High Commission.

Haryana Chief Minister Assured All Support For Australian Campus In Gurugram

While welcoming the delegation, Saini assured them that they would provide all the support and also proposed providing an existing building and other facilities to start the campus. Soon a MoU will be signed in this matter.








"The Haryana government's Foreign Cooperation Department will be coordinating further according to the requirements of the IRUs of Australia. With the establishment of the campus, students will no longer need to travel to Australia, as they will be able to pursue undergraduate courses right here in Haryana," the state government statement said, as reported by Hindustan Times.







"Upon completing their studies, they will receive a certificate from the Australian university, which will open doors to lucrative job opportunities not only in Haryana but globally. This initiative will help students from Haryana save on hefty tuition fees and other expenses associated with studying abroad," added the statement.

"After Class 12, students on this campus will have the opportunity to pursue four-year integrated courses in software engineering, cyber security, Artificial Intelligence , financial technology, tourism and hospitality, and sports management. The range of courses will be gradually expanded in alignment with the evolving needs of the state and the community," the statement further added.
