Institute for International Education administers the Quad Fellowship. The aim is to harness the upcoming technologies for better solutions for people living across Indo-Pacific.

U.S. Department of State Hosts 50 Quad Fellows in Washington; Know Eligibility Details To Apply

Study in USA: At the second Quad Fellowship Summit in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Department of State recently welcomed 50 Quad Fellows who are promising young scholars from India, Australia, Japan, Southeast and the United States.

Quad Fellowship was launched in 2021, and this is the first year it included scholars from Southeast Asia. Quad Fellows pursue graduate degrees in STEM fields at U.S. universities and get a stipend during the course.

The goal is to harness new technologies for people's benefit and use these to facilitate openness, economic prosperity and connectivity.

"Quad Fellows met with private sector and U.S. government representatives to discuss scientific and technological developments in the Indo-Pacific. Quad Fellows also engaged with science and technology specialists working in the U.S. government to explore leveraging STEM research to deliver tangible benefits to the Indo Pacific region," reads the official statement of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in India.

Quad Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

Those interested in applying for the Quad Fellowship must meet the following criteria:

  • They should have a bachelor's degree in STEM-related subjects by August 2024.
  • Should be of minimum of 18 years of age during the application.
  • They must have a strong academic record of undergraduate degree.
  • Applicants should be citizens of Quad countries which include U.S., Japan, India, and Australia or of any ten Southeast Asia nations including Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, Brunei, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore or Vietnam.

Benefits of Quad Fellowship

The prestigious Fellowship offers various benefits including networking opportunities, financial benefits, programming and cross-cultural exchange. They get a one-time stipend of $40,000 for academic expenses. Moreover, they get to engage and network with professionals in STEM-related fields, and they later get to join the growing alumni network.








2024 Quad Fellows from India

There are 10 fellows this year, these are - Asmita Sood, Data Science, Adhiraj Bhagat, Aerospace Engineering, Debarun Mukherjee Geochemistry, Kumaresh Ramesh, Climate Change, Rahoul Banerjee Ghosh, Physical Chemistry, Ramnath Kumar, Machine Learning, Roshni Shetty, Biomedical Engineering, Samskrathi Sharma Biology, Shravika Mittal, Human-Computer Interaction, and Srujan Penta, Electrical Engineering.
