University Of Liverpool Announces Paid Work Experience Opportunities For Its Students
Study in UK: Liverpool Interns is a new scheme of the University of Liverpool which is currently open to its students in their second, penultimate, and final year of undergraduate study, or students on a postgraduate taught (Master’s) programme.
The University of Liverpool has announced a new scheme - Liverpool Interns and invited its students to take part in it. It offers students with paid work experience opportunities with local businesses.
Under this scheme, the students will be connected with small and medium-sized companies in the region and can get paid internship opportunities with these companies. It will help the students in developing their employability skills and at the same time the businesses will also get help to develop and grow.
University’s Careers and Employability team will deliver this scheme and it is funded by the partners including the Higher Education Innovation Fund and Santander Universities. The students will get a bursary of up to £1,000 for an 80-hour internship which is flexible and can be done along with the studies.
This internship period can be completed on a part-time and full-time basis. In the part-time, the course can be done through a recommended commitment of around 7 to 10 hours per week. Full-time can be done outside of university during term-time such as over the Easter break.
Liverpool Interns Payment, Other Details
The students will get paid at a rate of £12.50 per hour with a maximum payment of £1,000. These opportunities will be available throughout the Spring and Summer 2025, and the start date is flexible. It will depend on the requirements of the local businesses and the success of the candidates.
Iraq’s Higher Committee for Education Development Lays Collaboration Plan With University Of Liverpool
The University Of Liverpool has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Professor Hamid Khalaf Ahmed, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Iraq and Executive Director of the Higher Committee for Education Development In Iraq (HCEDI).
Professor Tariq Ali, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement and Partnerships at the University of Liverpool said,“I am delighted to sign this agreement which will strengthen our collaborations in Iraq. The University of Liverpool already works with partners in Iraq including Al-Qadisiyah University, the University of Baghdad and the University of Mosul. This new MoU sets out the basis on which we can grow the breadth and depth of our collaborations for education and research. I also look forward to welcoming future students and researchers from Iraq to Liverpool.”
