University Of Strathclyde Invites Applications For MSc Advanced Immunology September 2025 Intake
In the MSc Advanced Immunology at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, the students will have two semesters of postgraduate lectures and laboratory courses.
Study in UK: The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow is currently accepting applications for its MSc Advanced Immunology course commencing in September 2025.
Interested students are advised to attend a webinar on January 23 at 12:00 GMT to learn more about pursuing an MSc in Advanced Immunology and other MSc Programmes with a focus on Cancer and Biomedical/ Bioscience. The webinar will offer an overview of the programmes. The participants will have the opportunity to ask questions from the Admissions Team and Department staff.
“This course focuses on how the body defends itself against disease. Immunology helps us understand processes of viral, bacterial or parasitic infection and how the immune system is sometimes tricked into attacking its own tissue, leading to diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes or allergy,” reads the university statement.
The fee for the international students is £31,250 for the academic year 2025/26. To apply for the program the students should have a minimum of second-class (2:2) honours degree in biological or chemical discipline or they can have an overseas equivalent. The English language requirement is a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 with no component below 5.5.

The students will get comprehensive postgraduate life sciences training with practical skill training. There will also be classes to train them on transferrable skills in presentations, statistics, ethics, career development, the ability to design experiments, science writing skills and analyze sophisticated datasets.
There will be two semesters of the lectures. The first one will refine the students in the core skills in presentation, statistical and data analysis, ethics, report writing, safety, and health. They will also learn about clinical immunology’s application aspects for understanding various immune responses. Moreover, they will get to interact with expert entrepreneurs to have better knowledge of how to turn their innovative business ideas into future business plans.
The second Semester will have advanced topics in four disciplines including microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, and pharmacology with a strong emphasis on advanced research methods, practical laboratory techniques and further development of analytical skills through workshops. The second semester also covers the various pathological and protective immune responses to infections.
There will be short optional classes in drug discovery, vivo biology, and haematology and then there will be a summer research project in which they will participate and write a thesis. Alternatively, they can choose to complete a critical analysis of scientific papers in biochemistry.
