University Of Tasmania: Applications Open For Master Of Strategic Communication
Study in Australia: While there is no application deadline for the Master of Strategic Communication course at the University of Tasmania, students are expected to apply a few months before the course begins for their COE 3.
The University of Tasmania has invited applications for the Master of Strategic Communication course starting in 2025. The tuition fee is around $71,648 AUD.
The course is designed to equip students with knowledge, tools, and skills to navigate various communication landscapes such as creative industries, sciences and politics. Those who want to implement and drive changes across environmental, social, business and political settings will learn from the complexities of a digital-first communication environment in the Law, Arts, Engineering, Education, Health, and Science sectors.
Communication is an integral part of all kinds of jobs in today’s time. Master of Strategic Communication program helps students from various education backgrounds including those from business, arts, and sciences. After completing the course, the students will get professional-level communication expertise and learn advanced analytical abilities to handle real-world challenges.
Eligibility Requirements For Master Of Strategic Communication
The following are the entry requirements:
- The students should either have a Bachelor’s degree in any field with a credit average; or they can have a minimum of 3 years professional experience in public relations, journalism, event management or related industries.
- If they have citizenship or completed their prior education in an approved English-speaking country, they do not need to provide English test scores.
- However, those who do not meet these requirements need to provide an English test score which is an IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.
“The postgraduate program is provided full-time in English for two years. The program offers the chance to specialise in areas that leverage Tasmania’s unique industry connections and the Media School's reputation for cutting-edge research. Students can choose from specialisations including Environmental Conservation and Management, Marketing Communication, Public and Environmental Health, and Tourism and Experience,” says the university statement.
University of Tasmania Student Gets Award To Reduce Food Waste In Australia
Ramida Varahakaporn, a Master of Agricultural Science and Food Science student, has received an award for controlling food waste in Australia. She has been recognized for her exceptional Masters research thesis on the second-grade fruit on the quality of freeze-dried berries and the impact of cold storage.
“It’s really meaningful for me to receive the Tom McMeekin Award. My hard work has paid off with the award that I received, I’m really grateful for it,” she said.
“I hope this will reduce the amount food waste in Australia as it’s currently a big issue. My project assesses the quality of the freeze-dried strawberries using the second-grade strawberries to reduce the food waste problem that we have. There’s over seven-million tonnes of food waste in Australia every year. I want to divert some of that into a new product that’s of good quality and accepted by consumers," she added.
