SAT and ACT are two similar tests used to test the potential of students who want to take admission in undergraduate courses. We can use scores of both the exams at the time of admission by using the conversion table.
SAT Exam
The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), known as the scholastic aptitude test before is a standard test conducted by the College Board. All the students seeking admission in undergraduate courses, especially in Canada and the USA, must take this test. The SAT exam evaluates the verbal, written, and mathematical skills of the student. If the student is keen to take admission in a specific subject, he/she can take the SAT exam in different subjects. The SAT subject tests are available in History, Sciences, Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language, etc.
Also, the SAT has now been introduced in India by the College Board. From 2018, students keen to pursue an undergraduate course from the top-ranking universities in India can apply through the SAT exam.

ACT Exam
The ACT (American College Testing), is a standard entrance test used by many universities and colleges in their admission procedure. The key aim of the ACT test is to judge whether the student is ready for college and simultaneously provide the colleges with a common benchmark to make comparisons among all the applicants. However, the importance of the ACT score in the admission procedure varies from college to college. Eventually, the better is your ACT or SAT score, higher are your options to get into the college of your choice.

Interpreting the ACT-Sat Conversion
Before applying for admission in a school or college, it is crucial to understand whether it is beneficial to submit the ACT or SAT score. In such a case, the chart given below can prove to be useful in deciding which score is to be submitted at the time of admission. We can understand this with an example. A score of 1250 on SAT and 26 on the ACT are comparable as per the below table, and any of the scores can be submitted at the time of admission. However, a score of 1130 on SAT and corresponding 27 on the ACT would mean it is beneficial to submit the ACT score as it is higher and would be considered better at the time of admission.
