Scholarship Overview

International Secondary School Merit Scholarship are awarded by the Toronto Metropolitan University, which supports students in its academics and research pursuits. International Secondary School Merit Scholarship includes a one time award of up to CAD 5000, which can be used for the purpose of tuition payment only. The scholarship does not include other expenses such as accommodation, living expenses, travel expenses, etc. Toronto Metropolitan University usually looks for candidates with a holistic profile, and not just academic excellence. This scholarship is available to students from all countries. As for the academic eligibility criteria, candidates are expected to have 12th that can prove an academically excellent background. Students also need to appear for the following exams: TOEFL, IELTS and PTE.

Eligibility

Qualifaction requirements:

  • Successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent with overall and individual subject requirements depending on program
  • Arts, Business Management, Creative Industries and Professional Communication- Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum overall average of 65% in 4 academic senior level subjects + Math 10 score minimum 50%
  • International Economics and Finance- Senior Secondary School Certificate with minimum overall average of 65% in 4 academic senior level subjects + Math 12 score minimum 65%
  • A minimum 85%/A or equivalent final admission average is required for consideration. 

English language requirements:

  • All engineering and science program except computer science and architectural science- TOEFL overall score 83. IELTS score 6.5 and PTE score 60. 
  • All other programs including computer science and architectural science- TOEFL score 92, IELTS overall score 6.5 and PTE score 60
