The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) is a leading private educational institution in Singapore. In 1964, this university was founded at the initiative of the Economic Development Board. It was awarded the Edutrust Certification by the Council for Private Education in May 2010. In a JobsCentral Learning Survey conducted in 2015 covering 2932 aspirants, it was found that the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) is one of the preferred private educational institutes for higher education.

In 2008, at the Annual Institute Varsity Polytechnic Games, students of the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) bagged gold, silver, and bronze medals.

What are the courses available to international students?
Singapore Institute of Management offers full-time programmes, part-time programmes, executive programmes, conferences, Customised Learning and Development Solutions, etc., to international students. A total of 123 programmes are offered to international students. They can enrol in various bachelor’s, diploma, certificate, and postgraduate programmes at the Singapore Institute of Management. International students can choose to pursue more than 72 world-class bachelor’s programmes, more than 32 world-class master’s programmes, 6 diploma programmes, 7 certificate programmes, etc.

What are the documents needed for the application?
The supporting documents needed for the admission of international UG and PG aspirants at the Singapore Institute of Management are the same. These documents are:

Educational Certificates: ‘O’ and ‘A’ level certificates, degree certificates, diploma certificates, exam transcripts, etc., are required. If documents are not in English, translated and notarised copies are also required. Before the closing date of the application, aspirants must attain the minimum qualification required for a particular programme in which they plan to enrol.

Application & Tuition Fees
Is there any application fee?
The application fee for local applicants is SGD 96.30, and for international applicants, it is SGD 481.50.
What is the fee structure of the courses offered by the university?
The bachelor’s programme fee for the first year is SGD 8,667.00, and for the second and third years, it is SGD 38,520.00. The total fee for the 3-year programme is SGD 47,187.00. The postgraduate programme fee is SGD 12,000 (est.) for 4 units. Fee can also be understood with help of the following graph:

SIM Global Education Scholarship
The currently enrolled students pursuing bachelor's degree programmes can apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is offered to aspirants with exemplary academic results in sports and arts. Aspirants with Singapore citizenship, international students, and permanent residents enrolling in full-time courses can apply for this scholarship. The support includes examination fees, course fees, fixed book allowance, and other compulsory fees.

What are the application steps?
Before starting your application, read the additional information system of SIM. The step-by-step online admission process to apply to UG and PG course at SIM is given below:
Step 1: Start your application by logging in to the university website. If you are a new user, you need to sign up using your Google or LinkedIn account.
Step 2: After logging in successfully, select the applicant type.
Step 3: You will then need to complete your application form as an ‘International Applicant’, adding the correct information.
Step 4: Select your preferred programme.
Step 5: Complete your personal and educational details and submit the application form.
When will I hear from the university after I submit my application?
Applicants will be informed of their application outcome by email one month before their course begins. After receiving the offer, aspirants must confirm the form online and accept the student contract document.

Part Time Work While Studying
Can I work while studying here?
International students holding student passes cannot work in Singapore, according to the regulations of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority. Full-time international students enrolling in courses at SIM are not allowed to undertake any form of paid or unpaid employment. International students also cannot start a business when issued a student’s pass. This condition applies to all international students studying at the Singapore Institute of Management.
Visa Rules: Students who wish to pursue full-time courses at the Singapore Institute of Management need to cancel their work pass and apply for a student’s pass. The granting of a student’s pass is subject to Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority’s approval. Visa rules for new applicants are:

Applicants must submit their applications at least 2 to 6 months before the course commencement date.

Applicants are not required to be present in Singapore while their applications are being considered.

When visa applications are being processed, applicants will not get an extension to stay.

To complete the issuance formalities of student passes, applicants need to enter Singapore after their application forms have been approved.
