TEF Canada

Apart from verifying one’s French skills, the test helps one integrate into a school or university, obtain the French Resident Card with TEF Integration, Residence and Nationality, immigrate to Quebec, immigrate to Canada and get Canadian citizenship, and obtain French or Swiss nationality.

In Canada, this test is compulsory for economic immigration programmes for which language skills proof is needed. This has been made mandatory by Canadian Citizenship and Immigration, Canada. One can obtain Canadian citizenship through TEF Canada which serves as French language proficiency evidence. The result of the test is valid for two years. The Canadian authorities will recognize the certificate only if the various test sections have been attempted on a common day.
