Hence, formerly known as the Tokyo Institute of Technology, the university is now called the Institute of Science Tokyo. As a result, the abbreviated form or the former common short name of the university has changed from "Tokyo Tech" to "Science Tokyo". Candidates must note that the university website is currently in the process of migrating all its data to the new website, i.e. https://www.isct.ac.jp/en. Students enrolled at Tokyo Tech before the date of the merging of the two institutions will remain enrolled on the old institute. However, prospective students who enrol after the merger will be enrolled under the new university’s name, Science Tokyo.
