In collaboration with the Embassy of France in India, the Krishnakriti Foundation provided scholarships to Indian students in the Arts domain. It is awarded to those who hope to pursue a course in Visual and Fine Arts at renowned French institutes. The scholarship includes India to France (round trip) flight tickets, a fee waiver for France Visa and campus, medical insurance coverage, help in finalizing reasonable housing and a monthly stipend.

Sanskriti-Kalakriti Fellowship

The Kalakriti Fellowship is managed by Sanskriti Pratishthan and is offered to young performing artists in Performing Arts. Although female applicants are inspired to apply for the same, anyone can apply if they meet the eligibility criteria and understand the vision. This fellowship will enable such budding artists to boost their skills and capabilities through rigorous practice and an in-depth understanding of their respective art.

Highlights

  • One needs to hold Indian citizenship in order to apply for this fellowship and should be between 25 to 40 years of age.
  • Minimum 10 years of basic training in Indian classical dance is a must.
  • The fellowship may last 10 months.
  • The applicant should have two-three of his/her solo performances featured in recognized forums.
  • The recipient of this fellowship will obtain a Rs 50,000 grant, which will be given in two instalments (1st instalment at the beginning of the program and the second after the recipient’s project report is submitted).
  • Please note that the applicant should not possess any other fellowship or is part of another project at the time of applying.

Saryu Doshi Graduate Fellowships in Liberal Arts & Sciences

The Saryu Doshi Graduate Fellowships in Liberal Arts & Sciences are given by Vinod & Saryu Doshi Foundation to young Indians who have a financial constraints, restricting their ability to pursue their dreams. A non-profit charity trust, the foundation lends help to initiatives connected with Art & Culture, Education and Community. This need-based fellowship is given to students pursuing a course in the field of Mathematics, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Humanities. Before planning to apply for this, students should ensure that they hold an acceptance/offer letter from a reputed institute.








Highlights

  • It is given to those Indian students who possess an offer letter from an overseas university in order to pursue post-graduation in Liberal Arts (PG Diploma/Certificate, Master’s or Doctorate).
  • A maximum of Rs 3 lakhs will be awarded as a fellowship per individual. The same will be paid one time.
  • Those applying should possess a 1st class degree or equivalent from a known university in India.
  • Final year students can apply for this fellowship provided they can present their respective final year certificates.

Inlaks Shivdasani Scholarships

Students from India have been receiving these scholarships since 1976 for studying at highly-rated European, American, and UK institutions. These are meant for pursuing a full-time MPhil, Masters or Doctoral course. The selection is done by the Inlaks Selection Committee which is appointed to select the best of the applications. Those applying for scholarships in art and design will have their portfolios evaluated in order to win these scholarships. A candidate’s future potential is also taken into account while scanning his application.







Courses which are not funded by the foundation: Engineering, Fashion Design, Indian Studies without Contemporary Relevance, Film and Film Animation, Public Health, Business and Finance, Music, Hospitality and Tourism, Computer Science, Medicine, Dentistry and related therapies, and MBA.

Edinburgh College of Art PhD Scholarships

These scholarships are meant for students pursuing PhD in any five of its schools – Reid School of Music, School of Art, History of Art, School of Design, and ESALA (Architecture and Landscape Architecture). Both full-time and part-time new PhD students (domestic and international) can apply for these scholarships. Also, students who are pursuing the PhD both on-campus and through online learning can apply for the same.

  • Application Scoring Criteria: Readiness for research, Research proposal’s content and quality, relevant qualifications or work experience, Requirement of training, plans and provision, and supervisory expertise.
  • Three scholarships are being awarded which cover full-tuition fees, a yearly stipend of Euro 15,700 for a duration of three years of full-time study or Euro 7,850 for 6 years of part-time study.

Scheme for Scholarships to Young Artists in Different Cultural Fields

Budding young performers who reflect the exceptional potential for advanced training inside India in Indian Classical music, Mime, Folk Art, Light Classical Music, Indian Classical Dance, Theatre, Visual Art, and Traditional and Indigenous Arts. A total of 400 scholarships were awarded last time. The selected lot will have to undergo meticulous training and the duration of the scholarship will be two years. During the training, the scholar will have to practice alone for a minimum of three hours daily. Apart from this he/she studies the related theory.

Highlights

  • The scholarship amount of Rs 5,000 (per month) will be awarded for two years and will cover travelling, living expenses, books, related material and tuition charges if any.
  • The applicant should be an Indian nationality holder and should possess the basic education allowing him/her to pursue the course.
  • Atleast five years of training with their mentors or institutes is a must.
  • The age of the applicant should be minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on the given date. No age relaxation will be provided.
  • The selection will be made on the basis of an interview/performance before an expert committee.
  • Beginners cannot apply for this assistance.
