Aston graduates are some of the most graduates in the country. Every year many students are willing to study in UK and apply for admission at Aston University. Campus placement allows you to get a taste of the world of work, build your professional network, meet new people, and develop your skills. You can even travel abroad to work or study at one of our international university partners!
The university has great connections with some of the big companies like IBM, Microsoft, Samsung, Rolls-Royce, etc. The university has a dedicated team of Placement Coordinators who support you throughout your placement journey and provide you with all the necessary tools. Students can choose to complete a work placement in the UK or overseas, set up and run their own business, study abroad at one of our partner universities, or you can combine a few different elements for one truly memorable year. Students in courses such as Pharmacy and Optometry undertake a pre-registration year to gain work experience. How you spend your placement is up to you – we’ve outlined many options below.
- A whole year
You can complete between 30-48 weeks with one organization in the UK or abroad. You must work a minimum of 16 hours per week.
- Study Abroad
You can study abroad with one of our partner universities. The university put together a useful guide to help you to explore your options for studying abroad.
- Set up a business
You can set up and/or run a business for your placement year through Enterprise placements. The Aston Enterprise and Careers & Placements teams will manage this jointly.
- Other flexible options
Apart from the above options, graduates have other flexible options like Part-time Jobs, Joining the family business, Entry-level jobs, volunteering, etc.
