Q:   Can I get admission to B.Tech at Oxford?

A: 

International students can get into the Oxford BTech programme if they complete a high school degree with at least Ga rade 'A'. Applicants are expected to have Mathematics to A level (A* or A grade), Advanced Higher (A grade), Higher Level in the IB (score 7), or another equivalent for Oxford admission. They must also take the Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT) as part of the Oxford University application process. Mentioned below are the selection criteria for BTech admission at the university:

For courses requiring A*A*A:

  • The students will not know their grades for the CBSE board when they apply
  • For CBSE board: Grades A1 A2, with grade A1 in any subjects relevant to the course applied for
  • For the CISCE board: The overall grade should be at least 90%, with 95% or above in four subjects (including any relevant to the course applied for) and 85% or above in the fifth subject

For courses requiring A*AA:

  • The students will not know their grades for the CBSE board when they apply

The interviews primarily focus on problem-solving and mathematical questions rather than personal statements or extracurricular activities. The interviewers look for proven mathematical talent, the ability to think and work independently, the capacity to absorb and use new ideas, and enthusiasm. They see how you tackle unfamiliar problems and respond to new ideas. They don't expect students to have formal qualifications in computing but do expect a real interest in the subject.
