Union College: Courses, Admission, Cost

Union College is a private institution that was established in 1795. It has a total undergraduate enlistment of 2,206 and its campus size is 100 acres of land. It uses a trimester-based academic schedule. School life is divided into three 10 week terms or trimesters, at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. On the trimester plan, students take three classes for every term and have an extended winter break. All first-year recruits, who live in residence halls, are randomly appointed to one of seven Minerva Houses, an academic and social community. All students can take classes and take an interest in extracurricular exercises in the houses. Each house has its own kitchen for students who need to prepare their own meals. There are over 100 student clubs and associations, including more than 15 fraternities and sororities. A school mascot is a costumed man known as Dutch. New York is around 150 miles away and over 60 percent of students travel abroad before graduation. Union College's worldwide contributions incorporate year programs, trimester stays and three-week trips known as mini-breaks. Every year, students enjoy the changing seasons at Springfest, a day of concerts by celebrated entertainers like Sean Kingston and Matt Nathanson. In addition to its undergrad majors, Union College offers fast track professional degree programs in conjunction with other schools. There are additional master's degree fast track programs in the business and education fields.

The Union Scholars honors program is carefully created so students can choose from an assortment of interdisciplinary courses that explore fine arts and historical and contemporary global cultures. Honors Research Grants

A limited number of grants of up to $500 are accessible to Union Scholars to help with their own Honours research project. Grant cash is utilized to help the research endeavors of students and can be utilized for costs, for example, travel to conferences or equipment unique to the student's project. A worldwide point of view is a core objective of the Union Honours program and the Honours study tour gives the chance to researchers to encounter viewpoints from different parts of the world. Each visit permits students to analyze basic worldwide issues from a relative point of view.
