Students must complete a minimum four year bachelor's degree to be eligible for admission. Applicants must have one of the following to qualify for admission if they do not have a four year degree:
- Three year degree plus master's
- Two year bachelor's degree + 2 year master's degree, In the same field (to total 4 yrs.)
- Three year degree + Assoc. In Chartered Accounts, India
- Three year degree + postgraduate diploma (in a related field), that required the three year degree from an AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education)
- Applicants must have a degree in Geology, or 24 units of equivalent upper-division coursework in Geology which must have been passed with a grade of "C-" or better and includes :
- Physical Geology
- Physical Geology Lab
- Earth Materials - Rocks and Minerals
- Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology
- Sedimentology/Stratigraphy
- Structural Geology and Tectonics
- Field Geology
- Field Techniques
These core undergraduate courses cannot be used as graduate electives by students who do not hold a degree in Geology or equivalent

- successful completion of two semesters of inorganic Chemistry with a lab

It’s a liberal school so if you’re not open minded than you might not wanna come here.
Tips: Get in the contact with someone who's atleast spent a semester or two here so you can learn the ropes of this place from the get go. Otherwise you're gonna be roaming throughout the campus with a map trying to figure it out. There's a lot of resources for students that you won't be informed about.
Likes (Public transportation): There's always buses going around that start in the morning at 6 or 7 all the way until 10 pm. There's different routes you can explore most of Sacramento just through the bus routes. Some places to visit would be West Sacramento, there are some good places to explore.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is Indian food if you can cook it for yourself. But for even something similar to Indian food you're gonna have to travel 15-20 mins in the bus. I mostly prefer eating on campus since I'm in the dorms and you can get a meal card and it's much more convenient after classes than any kind of activity.
