Tips: Before joining, students should know that CMU is expensive private university so they need to be very careful while paying any expenses. Tips: A huge transition in terms of workload and lifestyle. Overall the students are friendly here. I was not fortunate enough to receive any scholarship and was able to offset my only expenses by being a research assistant and teaching assistant. The quality of education is awesome. Tips: There was a huge cultural shift. But people here made me feel more inclusive. I got a scholarship of 50k dollars. University supported me for the scholarship. Tips: Pittsburgh is a smaller city as compared to major cities such as LA and New York. The local population is very warm and welcoming. Additional, there is a large Indian student community which makes things easier. CMU also has a very rich Indian alumni network that makes thing much easier.

Tips: I got a scholarship, and I would recommend students negotiate on scholarships with the university. I am satisfied with the university overall. University student coordinators and programme counsellors are very warm and the college consciously makes an effort for team bonding and networking.

Tips: Negotiate scholarships on the basis of acceptances/scholarships received from other schools. An intense basecamp of 3 weeks is held by the school to help transition to the new environment. Tips: This is a small and well-connected class. We had class networking and orientation for almost 3 weeks which shows the emphasis on networking and connections. Scholarships are also generous with merit-based scholarships. The course is data oriented so it is very quantitative.
