- A designed professional resume.
- 2-3 fashion design projects, fully documented from initial inspiration to final realization, demonstrating the ideation, visualization, and execution of original concepts
- All work shown in the portfolio must be fully realized and documented. Template-based work is not acceptable.
- All work shown in the portfolio must have a design narrative (a short description of the project concept and intention) with the role the applicant played in the design and execution of the work. Any instance of collaboration, outsourcing, or contracting must be clearly and specifically identified
- Portfolio must evidence working knowledge of appropriate application of industry-standard design software as well as traditional techniques of visual communication and apparel realization.
- In addition to the specifications for the statement of purpose outlined in the admission requirements, the statement of purpose for all graduate applicants for fashion must include a clear discussion of the specific intended area of interest for thesis or final project work.
The portfolio should consist of the following
- Recommendation-
- Two letters of recommendation should be provided by professors, advisers, supervisors, or community leaders who have had immediate contact with the applicant, and who have knowledge of the applicant's level of commitment and history of achievement.
- Recommendations should provide relevant information about the applicant's creativity, initiative, motivation, character, and achievements, thus assessing the applicant's reasonable potential for success as a student at SCAD. Recommendations may not come from friends or family members.
- SOP- The statement should be a 500- to 750-word overview of the applicant's academic and professional accomplishments and should demonstrate a high level of interest in and a highly developed understanding of the discipline. The applicant should describe knowledge of the discipline, approach to past work, qualifications for graduate study and intended focus, as well as personal and professional goals.
- The Statement of Purpose must clearly articulate how the creative business leadership degree is relevant and how it will enable the student to attain their professional and career goals
- Resume-The resume should document educational credentials as well as professional and other employment such as internships or field experience in the intended area of graduate study, and should list commissioned works, exhibitions, performances, publications, honors, memberships, interests, and activities, including volunteer work.
