  • The Associate of Science degree in Geology is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university and pursue a Baccalaureate Degree Program in the Earth Sciences. The curriculum approximates the freshman and sophomore general education requirements of most four-year colleges and universities. As part of this degree program, students must complete the requirements of the Ohio Transfer 36 in order to graduate.
  • Program Outcomes
    Demonstrate fundamental understanding of plate tectonic theory as it relates to: --the rock cycle --deformation and earthquakes --the hydrologic cycle
    Demonstrate working knowledge of the geologic time scale as it applies to Earth history such as: --deep time and solar nebula theory --timing and sequence of major geologic and biologic events
  • Demonstrate competence of basic geologic skills such as: --identification of minerals, rocks and fossils --interpretation of topographic maps, geologic maps and depositional environments
