- An official undergraduate Transcript for a completed undergraduate degree in music (from an accredited program) is required with the application.
- The GPA for all music courses included in the undergraduate degree must be at least 3.00 International students must include copies of graduation Certificates and/or Diplomas (in addition to official transcripts) with their applications
- Successful auditions and/or interviews are required for acceptance into chamber music, conducting, electro-acoustic music, performance, pedagogy, and theory concentrations. Approved portfolios are required for acceptance into composition (jazz or traditional)
- Diagnostic tests in music theory and history must be taken before classes begin in the first semester. Based upon the scores, the music faculty may require remediation in one or both areas of study in order to qualify the student for permission to enroll in certain courses. Graduate review courses are offered each fall semester

It is a friendly and warm campus.
Tips: USF offers several opportunities and exposure throughout one's life in college which I have found very valuable. The faculty and professors are open-minded and helpful when needed and if there is something that needs to be improved, it is the limited class sizes as it affects registration for classes. Public transportation is very convenient and affordable. Students should explore as much as they can.

Tips: I have been pretty satisfied with my time here and the campus life is enriching. There is a lot of diversity and the academic programs and courses are well formulated as well. Other than this, Tampa can get really hot during the summers so prepare according.

The university is great and the faculty is understanding and friendly.
Tips: Please don't get into the part-time trap. A lot of people work just to earn money, some work off campus even after on-campus part-time, just to earn money and buy stuff that is not that important during their studies. Students should try to get a GA, they get a full waiver. The university has its own bus service which is very helpful to travel anywhere in the University as the campus is huge. It's free for all USF students and even in the whole of Tampa, local bus service is free for USF students. You can travel pretty much anywhere in the city and explore freely.

It has been a positive and unique experience.
Tips: If you are travelling from India, then try to get here at least a week in advance so you can give yourself time to recover and explore the vicinity as well. Plan your class schedule and priorities in advance and in case you feel like you need help, there are various campus organisations and services here. The faculty is very helpful, friendly and understanding so feel free to reach out to them in case of any queries.
