WPI Career Placement Support
WPI’s Career Development Centre has constantly exceeded students’ expectations by yielding great results related to career and further education. The centre offers networking opportunities, counselling sessions, career-related resources and more for the convenience of university students. It serves as a guide for discovering different available majors, and career options, weaving attractive resumes and overall personality development. More than 400 recruiters offer job placement to students every year, apart from internships, co-ops, volunteering activities, etc.
Of the various services offered, some have been listed below:
Handshake Portal: This portal is your one-stop destination for students who wish to explore different subject options, employer details, current job opportunities, campus recruitment details and more.
Career Fests: Two career fests (in fall and in spring) are organised every year by the university career centre. Students can attend either one or both of them and build a network at these events, which are attended by a large number of agency representatives. A ‘Career Fair Tip Sheet’ is available online which the students can download and get tips and suggestions regarding interviewing requirements such as clothing, gestures, what to talk about and what not to mention. Students can also attend these fairs online on Handshake where they can interact personally with recruiters through a 10-minute video call. They can also attend group sessions during the same.
Networking Nights and Career Expos: This event allows students to meet and interact with the university alumni, professionals and other students.
On-Campus Interviews: A recruitment drive is organised on campus as well where every year more than 200 agencies and employers take part and interview students for full and part-time employment, co-ops, internships, etc. The interviews happen between September to April.
