There are two profiles in the merchant navy, engineer and cadet, first, you need to decide which profile you want to go for. Under Cadet - you must clear IMUCET conducted by Indian Maritime Institute or JEE and do your B.Sc. Nautical Science or B.Sc. Marine Science
Under Engineering - You must clear IMUCET conducted by Indian Maritime Institute or JEE and do your B.Tech (Marine Engineering). You can also do B.Sc. Nautical Science or B.Sc. Marine Science. IMU- CET :Indian Maritime University conducts an entrance exam IMUCET for various courses such as B.Sc. Nautical Science, B.Sc. Marine, B.Sc. Marine Catering, etc. You are also required to clear an interview and medical check-up. JEE T. S.
