A Junior Engineer on a ship can earn around Rs. 30,000 per month with free boarding and lodging while signed on board the vessel. The next level is of Second Engineer and finally, Chief Engineer on a ship. As you keep getting promoted, your salary increases substantially. A Chief Engineer at sea earns Rs. 1.5 Lacs per month or more NET of taxes. BASIC DETAILS ABOUT Diploma IN NAUTICAL Science COURSE

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum educational qualification required to pursue this course is 10+2 Science stream schooling with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. Students should have passed 12th Board examination from a recognised Board. Minimum marks criteria may exist and is generally around 50-60% marks in Board Examination. B.Sc. Degree holders (subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) may also pursue this course. Candidate should be Physically fit as per Merchant Shipping standards to take on sea faring role. Eyesight should be 6/6 on each eye (unaided vision). Candidate should not be suffering from color blindness or night blindness. AGE LIMIT

You need to appear for IMUCET which is a common entrance exam conducted by Indian Maritime University. Depending on the marks obtained in IMUCET (Common Entrance Test), candidates are accepted into the various campuses of IMU and its affiliated institutions.
