Hi Jagdeep,
There are other exams as well through which you can apply for admission in a merchant navy institute. These include TMISAT, JEE Advanced, WBJEE, CUSAT and CAT.

A. Deck Cadet or Navigating Officer
In this category, the career will start as a Deck Cadet, and the job responsibility would primarily be that of maintenance and running of the ship, tanks, cargo, etc. Education Required:

Yes, you can apply for joining Merchant Navy, but only 10+2 Science in PCM is not the only demand for joining Merchant Navy. For it, you should also fulfill some other eligibility criteria for joining Merchant navy. So I have put here the eligibility criteria for it. Educational qualification: The minimum eligibility for courses in Nautical Science and Marine engineering is 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics. If you missed Indian Maritime University's exam, you can appear for other institutes that provide similar training. You may choose to opt for:
1. B. S. Nautical Technology from Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI), Pune and RL Institute of Nautical Sciences (RLINS), Madurai.
2. B.Sc. Nautical Science offered by Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET), Chennai and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), Liverpool
