After completing 10+2 EXAMS there are mostly 4 ways to join Merchant Navy:
Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)
Bachelor in Nautical Science
B. Tech (Marine Engineering)
G.P Rating Courses
All these courses cater to different branches of merchant navy but the eligibility criteria remains the same and following are the eleigbility criteria for the courses.
The candidate must be physically and mentally fit, as they have to go through a medical exam.
Candidate must have a 6/6 eyesight in each of his eyes sepratley or before joining he or she can get a lasik before joining the course.
Candidate should not have color blindness.
Age should not exceed 25

Hello,
Here is the eligibility criteria:
The eligibility for joining merchant navy is finishing class 12th with physics, chemistry and mathematics. Candidates have to be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female). Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.
Physical Requirements:-
1. Eye Sight = 6/6
2. Height = 167 cms
3. Weight = 50 Kg
4. Chest = 77 cm (Normal) / 82 cm (Expanding)

Eligibility Criteria to pursue a career in Merchant Navy is mentioned below:
The eligibility for joining merchant navy is finishing class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates have to be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female). Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed. Admission is through an entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination. Both have scope and employment also. But it's all up to you which one you like. If you love flying across the world then choose a career as the commercial pilot and if you love to tackle the sea then merchant navy is for you.
