Yes they can. Navy health-care offers the ability to focus on the finer points of medicine without the financial and business complications of a private practice. Start-up costs, malpractice insurance, staffing, equipment and office management don't exist for navy physicians.

Merchant Navy Eligibility Criteria :-
~The eligibility for joining merchant navy in India is finishing class 12th with physics, chemistry and mathematics.
~Candidates have to be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female).
~Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.
~Admission is through an entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination.
~After clearing the test, there is an interview and a medical test.

To join merchant navy you can take IMU CET Exam, TMI SAT, WBJEE, JEE Advanced, CUSAT or CAT. The above mentioned exams are conducted for class 12th appearing candidates.

If you want to go in the marine field, you need to take IMU exam, JEE is not benificial for you.
