It is a very good idea. Firstly, you have to do the primary teacher's training certificate as PTT, BTC, D. El. Ed., and B. El. Ed etc. After that, you have to clear TET exam either CTET or state TET. And you must be selected in merit list.

Having an appropriate degree:Teaching requires different levels of degree depending upon the level of middle or high school teaching. Primary school teaching requires Ted. (Diploma in teaching education), a 2-year Diploma programme having a 12th pass as a minimum qualification. If this is equivalent to the Diploma you have done, you are eligible to start teaching as a primary school teacher.One should go for various teacher training courses to join primary or high schools apart from having a graduation degree.
