Yes, your qualification is sufficient to be employed as teacher in government schools provided that you have cleared any entrance or eligibility test (if organised by that state or central government). I would suggest for further promotions or for high salaried teacher job pursue any master degree. Any specialisation in any particular field will also get weightage. Smart classes are now becoming integral part of our education system.

You can apply for PGT.
Eligibility-
Post Graduate Teacher requires Masters degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the concerned or related subjects and B.Ed or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
So it is important that you pursue B.Ed. Eligibility conditions are:
(a) Bachelors degree with 50% marks in aggregate in the 10+2+3 or 11+2+2 pattern, or with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in the 10+2+2 or 11+3 pattern
(b) Having studied at least two subjects at the Bachelors degree level, to be later taken as school teaching subjects

Professorship has a great deal of Research orientation. The Publications, Ph.D and guidance for Research and the number of Seminars and Text Books written are taken into account, at the time of Interview. The Seniority as Associate Professor is an important criterion.

Professorship comes with experience and research publications. It takes not less than 15 years to become Professor. The rules are like that. One has to join as an Associate Professor and then become Associate Professor getting Ph.D. For joining profession, start with NET. Distance Education is not a dis-qualification.

Eligibility criteria for becoming a school teacher in government school:
-Class XII (any subject) followed by training in polytechnics and vocational training centers or Montessori Teacher training schools
-Class XII (any subject) followed by diploma in education or Bachelors in education (B.Ed)
-Class XII (any subject) followed by B.Ed. degree after graduation. These are Trained Graduate Teachers(TGT's) and after Post-graduation are Postgraduate trained teachers(PGTs).This training is imparted in teacher's training colleges.
