The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for their recruitment as teachers in the government schools of Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) will administer the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) test. UPTET Syllabus 2024 is prescribed by the UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC). The syllabus is released along with the notification. The UPTET 2024 syllabus varies for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The UPTET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to become Classes 1 to 5 teachers. The UPTET Paper 2 is for candidates who want to become Classes 6 to 8 teachers. The UPTET Paper 1 Syllabus comprises topics from five sections, namely, Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. The UPTET Paper 2 syllabus comprises topics from five sections, namely, Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies.

The Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (RTET) or Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers, is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates for teaching jobs in the state. The REET exam comprises two papers - Level 1 and Level 2. According to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) is legitimate and recognised. The legitimacy of UPRTOU's degrees is increased by the University Grants Commission's (UGC) recognition of the institution. However, in order for the degree to be accepted for teaching roles and further education, prospective students must confirm that the B.Ed program they plan to enrol in has received NCTE accreditation. Graduates from UPRTOU who hold a B.Ed. are eligible to apply for positions as school teachers and pursue postsecondary study as long as all prerequisites are met.
