 For UG Admission at the University of Leicester

Every year in September first week, application acceptance commences at UCAS for entry to the university next year October. Applicants are required to follow the following steps while applying at the University of Leicester:

Step 1: Visit the UCAS platform and open an account.

Step 2: Check out the list of available courses for international students. There are various options that exist.

Step 3: Applicants need to submit a personal statement and make themselves stand out. State why should you get selected and the reason behind you opting for a particular subject/course.

Step 4: You will also need to get a reference from your school teacher, which will act as a support to your candidature.

Step 5: You finally need to deposit the application fee.

Step 6: In the end submit your UCAS application form. If selected, you will either receive a conditional or an unconditional offer.

For PG admission at the University of Leicester

Step 1: Go through the list of courses available at the PG level, such as a Master's or a Research course, and select the one which holds your interest. You can research more about your selected course at the department website.

Step 2: Submit the required relevant documents. Applicants can upload their supporting documentation's electronic version.

Step 3: Applications for all the distance learning and the majority of the campus-based courses can be filled in online on the website only. The 'Apply Now' link will be present at each course page's bottom.

Step 4: Applicants should register as new users or login if their account exists already. In case you're unable to complete your form at one go, you can always save the same and visit the page anytime later to do so. Click on submit to complete the application procedure.

Step 5: A confirmation email will be received thereafter.

Note: Applicants for PGCE should apply through UCASTT.

Leicester is recognised as one of the most affordable place for students in UK. If students apply for a student visa, they will be required to demonstrate that the money will be submitted for any of the course fees and also there is EUR 1,023/INR 1.00 L for living costs for students during each calendar month of the course. The tuition fee for students applying to the University of Leicester is approximately 15,550 pounds (INR 1,669,783) for the year 2024-25. Some additional expenses that the students need to take into consideration include accommodation prices, bus passes, bedding, bathroom and expenses of kitchen supplies, Gym membership, meals, and others. The students are required to show that they have money for their course fees.

The university has a fairly decent acceptance rate of 71.4%. This means that the university is not that selective about its admission process. The admissions committee considers other measures of merit and ability to excel, such as proof of personal initiative or teamwork skills when choosing between candidates with broadly comparable credentials.
