The York College was formed in 1966. It is a public college which is a part of the City University of New York. Its establishment as a senior college led to the unification of other public colleges into a university system. The college has three different streams; namely the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Health Sciences and professional programs, and the School of Business and Information Systems. It provides students with a host of degree programs in over 44 different areas of study.
