Q:   Does Middle Tennessee State University offer scholarships to international students?

A: 

Yes, MTSU offers scholarships to international students. Scholarship in the amount of USD 6,000, USD 12,000, and USD 16,000 per academic year are available. These scholarships are merit-based. Students are considered for a scholarship when admitted and notifications are included in the admission letter. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis until all funds are exhausted. The scholarship is renewable annually during the students’ full-time enrollment. Also, note that this scholarship is not available during the summer semester.

Q:   What GPA is required for MTSU?

A: 

To take admission to MTSU, the applicants are required to meet the GPA requirements as well. For graduate courses, a minimum GPA of 2.75 is required for admission. Though, for international undergraduate students, MTSU University has not specified the minimum GPA requirements, but, it has specified the GPA requirements for freshman students. So, as per that, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required or ACT score of 22 / SAT score of 1100.

If students do not meet these UG requirements, then a minimum 2.7 GPA + ACT score of 19 / SAT score of 990 is required.

Q:   Is GRE required for Middle Tennessee State University?

A: 

To determine whether a course requires GRE score, the applicants must check the course-wise requirements of MTSU University. For a few graduate courses, GMAT or MAT scores are also required. Q:   Can I work on-campus while studying at MTSU?

A: 

MTSU international students having F1 status can work for 20 hours per week while the university is in session. This includes work undertaken in connection with a scholarship, assistantship or fellowship. Students may be employed full-time during summer and other vacation periods if they are eligible and intend to register for the subsequent academic term. Note that enrollment in summer sessions does not allow full-time on-campus work.
