Q:   How can I apply to MC?

A:

All applicants must follow the steps mentioned below, in order to apply to Mississippi College comprehensively:

STEP 1: Fill in the application

STEP 2: Send your transcripts to MC

Students who applied to enter MC as an incoming freshman should request that their high school send an official in-progress transcript of all high school work completed to date to the Office of Admissions. A student copy of the transcript cannot be accepted for admissions purposes. Transcripts may be sent electronically from the high school via the transcript services eScrip or Parchment or mailed directly to the Office of Admissions.

After graduation, applicants must have a final transcript sent including the date of graduation, a signature by a school official, and an official seal.

Students who have applied to enter MC as a transfer or are receiving credit from another college or university must submit a transcript showing college work as well. If the candidate is still enrolled in credit at that college, MC requires a student copy in order to determine their admission status. If the candidate is no longer taking classes at that college, have the college or university send a final, official transcript showing all credits completed. Final transcripts must come directly from the college or university via electronic service or mail.

Student copies can typically be obtained by either accessing online Student Portal at the institution, or by contacting institution's Registrar. Acceptable student copies of a transcript must:

  • Be a display of actual transcript, not a screenshot of student portal at the institution
  • Include your name
  • Include the institution's name where you are receiving credit
  • Include all classes in which you are or have been enrolled
  • Include grades and/or "work in progress" if you are currently enrolled
  • Include ALL pages

STEP 3: Submit Test Scores

Students who do not provide a standardized test score for admission evaluation will be considered for admission at MC based upon their high school GPA and other holistic criteria. Test scores for all applicants who graduated from high school within the last five years must be sent to MC directly from ACT, SAT and CLT headquarters or from the student’s high school (such as printed on an official transcript).

Q:   On which factors does MC judge a student's application?

A:

Mississippi College seeks to review each applicant on their individual merit and contribution to the university mission. They do not have set minimum scores for admission or scholarships. MC will review a student's transcript and unweighted, recalculated GPA. The average recalculated GPA range for admitted students from the 2023 academic year is 3.4 - 3.7. MC is test optional, but when students choose to submit test score (s), your score (s), they are an addittion to their application. The average Mississippi College application scores are 22-26 on the ACT, 1160 - 1330 on the SAT, and 89-100 on the CLT.

Resourceful and pleasant
Tips: It is challenging when it comes to facing the exams, they are quite tough at least in my computer Science and life sciences major as per my knowledge. Tuition fee is reasonable compared to many other universities. The cost of living around the school is cheap too.
Likes (Safety): It felt safe and I did not have many crime experiences. There was always security patrolling outside and inside the campus buildings. There is a college shuttle service if you are living on campus premises, it will pick u up and drop you off at the campus.
Dislikes (Indian Food): On campus there were limited food options, the cafeteria was good but the food was very Americanised and expensive. I prefer cooking myself but at times I used to go to Cafeteria. There is only one other food place on campus and it has limited food options.
