Tips: I got paid an allowance once it was around $12000 however did not avail of any scholarship. My professors were all good, and the labs here are well-equipped. The only concern I have is that library is not open 24x7. There are many things to do in university here and if you have any talent you'll easily find your way up. Be sure to prepare your assignments on time. I am overall satisfied with my university although I would say that a fee is a bit higher as to where the university is located.

Tips: Students should know that if you are planning to come here to feel city like vibes then you will be laid a bit back. This university is in the outskirts with forest surrounding and there isn't a lot of development here if I talk about the area. University itself is good, the extra-curriculars here are good as well. So before coming here at least talk to someone who has lived or studied around here so that you can have a fair idea.

Tips: As an international student at UMBC, there were definitely some adjustments I had to make when first arrived on campus. Tips: UMBC offers excellent educational opportunities. The lecturers are extremely educated, and they always encourage you to do your best with difficult homework, classwork and tests. Tips: In the beginning, I had issues understanding the transportation system around the city but it got better with time. I got a scholarship of 8000$ and 1000$ allowance. Tips: UMBC has its reputation but in reality the university and the surrounding area definitely needs to be worked on. It's more like an old university in the middle of a hilly forest area. The faculty members and management do a great job and assist students wherever. UMBC is expensive compared to other universities.

Tips: Good ROI, value for money. There are helpful professors, research opportunities, cheap cost of living and good infrastructure for other activities. Public transportation facilities are available, Computer Science can get better assistantship opportunities and job opportunities.

Tips: It is a research oriented university. So, be prepared to work hard. The syllabus will not be easy and also don't get disappointed if you cannot get an assistantship. The assistantships are luck based and given out randomly. But you'll have ample opportunities to work on campus.
