The creation of the University of Maryland Baltimore County goes back to the year 1963. Finally, in 1966, the university welcomed its first class. The main UMBC campus is right outside of Baltimore City, near Washington D.C., and a three-hour drive from NYC. UMBC main campus size is around 500 acres and is located in suburban Baltimore County.
