Yes, there is an age limit for admission to a Bachelor of Design (BDes) in Interior Design programme at some colleges: 
General: Typically 20–24 years old on August 1 of the year of admission.
SC, ST, and PwD: A 5-year relaxation in the age limit.

The eligibility criteria for a B Des in Interior Design from NIFT include:

• The age of the candidate should be less than 24 years as of August 1, 2025.
• Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years is only applicable for reserved categories such as SC, ST, and PwD.
• The academic eligibility requires candidates to pass Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

Hi, there are no mandatory skills you should learn to be eligible for a BDes Interior Designing course, however, some basic skills are essential to have while opting for a creative programme like Interior Design. No, Group Discussions or Personal Interview rounds are not mandatory in the BDes in Interior Design admission process. Fulfilling the eligibility criteria and obtaining a good rank in the entrance exam is the only step you need to clear to be eligible for the BDes in Interior Design admission.

The NID DAT 2026 (Prelims) exam will be conducted on December 21, 2025.

As per the official pattern, the DAT Prelims exam wil be conducted offline and will be of 3 hours duration. The test will be conducted in English language and include a maximum of 26 questions. The question paper will include both subjective and objective-type questions. The paper will be for 100 marks. Candidate who qualify in DAT Prelims have to next appear in DAT Mains.

The candidate needs to consult the exam pattern along with the syllabus to prepare for the NID that exam. Note that the National Institute of Design also has the authority to make changes to the exam pattern.

Pearl Academy entrance exam is conducted in multiple cycles, in January, April and June. Candidate has the option to choose any of these cycles. Note that applications are received separately for each cycle.

IIT Bombay had released a notification on its official website notifying that the UCEED exam starting in 2024 will be conducted following a revised syllabus. As per the revised syllabus, there has also been some changes to the UCEED exam pattern. For instance, the Part B question paper will now include two questions - 1) one question will be on Drawing and 2) the other question will be on Design Aptitude.
