There are only 2 IITs that offer Nanotechnology courses in India at present. You can pursue those courses at the PG level. You can study Nanotechnology courses in IITs, like IIT Roorkee and IIT Madras, which offer M.Tech in Nanotechnology and M.Tech in Functional Materials and Nanotechnology, respectively. The admission process will vary on the basis of the college offering the course and the course level. But, the general steps involved are usually the same. You can start by checking the eligibility criteria of the college you want to take admission to. If it has merit based admissions, you need to have a very good score in your board examination. Otherwise, you must give relevant entrance exams like JEE Main, GATE, CEETA, etc. for admission to Nanotechnology courses at UG and PG levels.
Next, you should fill out the college application form before the last date. The, after the exam results are out and you've got your rank and score, you have to participate in the college counselling to get a seat for yourself in the chosen program. The last step is that you need to go to the college, pay the course fee and start attending the Nanotechnology course classes.

Well, yes. If you belong to any of the reserved categories, including SC/ST/OBC/PwD, you usually get some sort of marks relaxation at the time of BTech Nanotechnology admission. The general relaxation is 5% at a majority of the colleges. For example, if the eligibility requirement is 50% marks for the general category, the reserved category students need 45% marks, with a similar approach in the entrance exam cutoffs.
