Highlights

  • Environmental engineering involves water treatment, water and air pollution control, land protection and reclamation industrial and hazardous waste containment and treatment, and municipal solid waste management, including the recycling of materials and energy recovery
  • Students will study the environmental impact of proposed infrastructure and resource development projects
  • The first two years of classes are based upon core engineering subjects. The third and fourth years of classes are specialized in technical and design-based principles
  • The environmental engineering program is multidisciplinary, meaning training from other colleges and other fields of engineering is valuable and worthwhile. Some subjects students can combine with engineering include computer science, biology and biochemistry. To do so, an additional year to 18 months of study is normally required
  • Students will complete several design projects throughout their degree, the most exciting is our fourth-year Capstone Design Project
  • The Capstone Design Project allows students to apply top-down design principles to a year-long project, starting with a basic description of the product or system and culminating in a presentation of a final working design

One of the best , I would say in the whole of canada
Tips: Students should also know about the weather during winter which can be very cold. I have seen many students change universities because of the weather. Talking solely of the university, it is one of the best ones in the country. There are many internships available starting from the second year.

Good University with a small town vibe
Tips: There may be a fee hike, so please do research on that as there was a huge fee hike this year(2022) of around 10k Canadian dollars. For the program of bachelor of commerce, this university has a good business school. Not much to do in the city for leisure, also, very harsh winters.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Very easy path for permanent residence. Many people who come to this city get their PR approved as soon as their graduation gets completed. If you like small town vibe, this city is for you, or you can change places after you get your permanent residency.
Dislikes (Safety): The second day in the city I wasn’t aware of the safety concerns and went exploring the city and got robbed. The university area is pretty much safe with protective services but the downtown is not a place to go alone. The safety inside university has no concerns.
