Studyabroad.shiksha.com got in touch with Aishwarya who got admission to Wichita State University in the USA and is studying Masters in Computer Science.

Q. Tell us your name, which city you are based in, and what are you currently doing?

Aishwarya: Hello everyone, I am Aishwarya. So, I started planning for a master's in 2020 when I just graduated after my bachelor's and had a full-time job in hand. I was in a confused state, to be honest as it was the pandemic and I had a full-time job in hand. It was very confusing. Still just because I had the passion to pursue a master's in the Computer Science field so I started searching for universities abroad. Whenever I searched for universities, I often came across Shiksha Study Abroad as the most reliable website. They listed all the information which was required and presented it in an elegant and sophisticated way. They gave me information about tuition fees, admission rates, the GRE and TOEFL requirements, and everything basically. That was very helpful for me.

Q. Once you were sure of going abroad to study, how did you research the application process?

Aishwarya: I started reaching out to the counselling team of Shiksha Abroad Counselling for further help. And yes, they were wonderful! They helped me from scratch. They helped me prepare my recommendation letters, which were supposed to be submitted to the university. They helped me with my resume. Once we were done with this, I started applying to universities. So, before applying, they gave me a list of universities that suited my profile. These universities were listed according to my GRE and TOEFL scores. I had a GRE score of 302 and a TOEFL score of 103. Depending on that and my GPA, they gave me a list of universities to which I could get admission for sure and in some, I had a slightly good chance of getting an admission. So they were some ambitious and dream universities. And it was all my choice where I could choose the universities I want to apply to and then go ahead. We did apply to five to six universities. Surprisingly, I got admission to all of them. Finally, chose Wichita State University because I also got a scholarship in that.

Q. How was your experience with the Shiksha counselling team?

Aishwarya: I was personally in contact with Swati ma'am in the Shiksha Counseling Team. So she was my counsellor and what to say about her. She is the most reliable person and even now, I can rely on her. She is the most reliable person I have ever met because not only did she help me with the procedure but also helped me personally by boosting my confidence and removing any kind of doubts I had. So whenever I had any kind of doubts, I would just ask her for some suggestions. She was always there for me and she was ready to help me at any time. I am really grateful that I had contact with her. She is amazing. What can I say about the counselling team-they are wonderful!

Q. How did you find the visa guidance and application process?

Aishwarya: The visa application process was one scary process for me because firstly, I was not getting an appointment during the COVID time and secondly, the visa interview. The visa interview was scary. I had no idea how the process would go on but Swati ma'am had me so well prepared. She gave me the questions and I prepared the answers. She then reviewed them, suggested some changes and how to answer the questions, and how confident I should look so that I can get the visa. So I was well prepared. She made sure that I was confident enough to ace the interview. I still remember I had an n-number of mocks with her as well as her manager. Once I got my slot and went for the interview, my visa was approved in 30 seconds. The questions were very easy because I was already prepared and I was confident while answering or countering any surprise questions. That was a wonderful process and I got my visa approved. Right now I am in the United States and doing my master's at Wichita State University.

Q. What are you most excited about?

Aishwarya: I was excited about the whole process. Yes, it was scary but then they made it so easy for me. I eased through the application process. A very big thanks to Shiksha Counselling Team again.

Q. One piece of advice to future study abroad aspirants

Aishwarya: One thing- Listen to your counsellor because they know what they are doing. They know what's the procedure, how to tackle it and well-experienced in this. Especially, the counselling team, they are well experienced. I have seen many students and personally met many students and friends who have come through shiksha.com. I hear the same stories from them also that their counsellors were also very helpful and friendly. So yes, I would say to listen to your counsellors. The second thing is to be confident. Always keep your documents ready and handy because the documents are very important and are sure you have all of them ready.

Q. What comes to your mind to describe the Shiksha counselling services?

Aishwarya: Again, a big thanks to the Shiksha team. You guys are doing a great job by helping students like us with 0 costs. That is the biggest help we can get and I am grateful that I was a part of this. Right now, I am here and I am very happy. Thank You!
