- The Master of Public Health is a flexible one-year degree designed to provide a broad introduction to public health
- With a strong focus on Work Integrated Learning, industry connections, and practical placements (available through the Public Health Practice specialisation), students will put theory into practice and develop diverse skills and knowledge in public health
- Students will engage in innovative learning experiences that provide advanced work-ready skills and develop a keen analytical and social lens to address issues of global health significance
- The Master of Public Health is a truly multi-disciplinary program, offering specialisations drawn from across UOW faculties and study areas

Admission to the Master of Public Health requires:
- an undergraduate degree (minimum WAM of 65) plus significant professional or volunteer experience in a field relevant to public health (equivalent of 2 years full time); OR
- an undergraduate degree with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65, plus one of the following: a one-year Honours degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. At least one qualification must be in a field relevant to public health
- Examples of relevant fields include medicine, nursing, allied health (nutrition science, dietetics, exercise science), health sciences, biomedical sciences, dentistry, sociology, behavioural and social sciences, psychology, human services, emergency services, environmental health, veterinary science, health administration, business, management, law, science, mathematics and statistics, economics, policy studies, development studies
- Entry to the Public Health Research specialisation requires a WAM of 75 or greater in the prior studies
